Failed links, stuck processing, silent files — solved in order of how often they happen.
You paste a link, hit Download, and… nothing. Or worse: "video unavailable," a broken file, or an endless processing spinner. Before you give up and screen-record like it is 2016, work through this list — these nine fixes resolve the overwhelming majority of failed TikTok downloads, on every device.
The most common failure is a truncated or altered link. TikTok links break if a chat app wraps them, or if you copy from search results instead of the video itself.
Downloaders can only access what the public can access. If the account is private, the video was deleted, or it is region-locked, no tool can fetch it. Test by opening the link in an incognito/private browser window: if you cannot watch it there, it cannot be downloaded. This single check explains most "it worked yesterday" complaints.
TikTok rate-limits aggressive fetching. If you have pasted a dozen links in a row, the next few may fail or hang on "Processing…" — wait 30–60 seconds and try again. It feels too simple to work, but it resolves a surprising number of stuck downloads.
TikTok "photo mode" posts have no video stream. Tools either return only the audio, a set of images, or nothing at all. If your link is a slideshow, the MP3 option may still work — see the MP3 guide — but there is no MP4 to download by design.
First, check the original inside TikTok — some videos are genuinely silent or have region-based audio rights that mute them in your country. If sound exists in the app but not in your file, re-download and try the other video option (with-watermark files sometimes carry a different audio track). Bluetooth devices and "do not disturb" audio routing cause false alarms too — test with speakers.
A pixelated result almost always means the source was low quality — TikTok stores what was uploaded, and no downloader can add pixels. For the sharpest possible output, start from an HD upload and pick the HD option; the HD download guide explains how to tell what you will get. If the file is truncated or refuses to open, simply re-download — interrupted transfers are the usual cause.
If everything above fails: close all browser tabs of the downloader, clear that site's cookies (or use a private window), reopen the VidSave homepage, and paste the link fresh. This resets any stuck session state and resolves the last stubborn percent of cases. Still nothing? The contact page is open — send the link and what happened, and we will take a look.
