Downloading TikTok Videos on iPhone & Android
Same tool, different devices — here is exactly how saving works on each, step by step.
VidSave works in the browser, so the core process is identical everywhere: copy link, paste, download. But where the file lands — and the little quirks of each operating system — differ. This guide covers both platforms in detail, so you always know where your video ended up.
On Android (Chrome, Samsung Internet, Firefox)
Steps
- In the TikTok app, tap Share → Copy Link on any public video.
- Open Chrome (or any browser), go to the VidSave homepage, and paste the link.
- Tap Download, then choose your format — Without Watermark HD for video or MP3 for audio.
Where files are saved
Downloads go to the Downloads folder by default. You will find them in the Files/My Files app, in the Downloads section, and in most Gallery apps under Albums → Downloads. From there you can move them to any folder, share them, or play them in any video player.
Android tips
- If Chrome warns "this type of file can harm your device" — this is a generic warning for MP4 downloads; tap Keep if you trust the source (it is a standard video file).
- Turn off "Ask where to save files" in Chrome settings for one-tap saving.
- Files not showing in Gallery? Restart the phone — Android's media scanner re-indexes on boot.
On iPhone & iPad (Safari, Chrome for iOS)
Steps
- In TikTok, tap Share → Copy Link.
- Open Safari, visit the VidSave homepage, paste the link, and tap Download.
- When the download button appears, tap it. iOS either plays the video in a new tab or starts a download — both are normal.
If the video opens in a new tab instead of downloading
Tap the video to open the player, then tap the Share icon (the square with the arrow) and choose Save to Files. You can also use Save Video if shown — that puts it straight into the Photos app. iOS handles browser downloads via the download icon (arrow in a circle) next to the address bar.
iOS tips
- Files from Safari land in Files → On My iPhone → Downloads (or iCloud Drive → Downloads).
- To move a video into Photos: open it in Files, tap Share → Save Video.
- If Safari blocks the pop-up tab with the download, allow pop-ups temporarily for the site (Settings → Safari → Block Pop-ups).
- Chrome for iOS works too — downloads appear under the three-dot menu → Downloads.
On Windows & Mac
The workflow is the simplest of all: copy the link from tiktok.com in your browser, paste it into VidSave, download, and the MP4 lands in your computer's Downloads folder. Perfect for creators archiving their own content in original quality before editing.
Universal Fixes (Any Device)
- Download stuck at 0%: refresh the page and paste the link again — the processing session resets.
- "Copy Link" missing: the account is private or the video is region-blocked; only public content works.
- Wrong file saved: check the button you tapped — the watermarked and non-watermarked options look similar.
- Out of storage: HD videos are several MB each; free up space if downloads fail midway.
