How to Download TikTok Sounds & Make Ringtones
Turn trending audio into ringtones, alarms, and offline playlists in minutes.
TikTok's biggest cultural export is not dance challenges — it is sound. A fifteen-second clip of a song, a movie quote, or someone's very funny grandmother can take over the entire internet. If you have ever wanted to keep that sound as a ringtone, alarm, or playlist track, this guide shows you exactly how, using VidSave's free MP3 extractor.
What You Can Save
- Full videos' audio: every sound inside a public TikTok video can be extracted as an MP3.
- Trending songs: the original or sped-up versions that never make it to Spotify.
- Voiceovers and comedy bits: great for re-listening or sharing in group chats.
- White noise and ambience: rain sounds, keyboard ASMR, café background audio for focus sessions.
Step-by-Step: Save a TikTok Sound as MP3
Step 1 — Copy the video link
In the TikTok app, tap the Share arrow on the video whose sound you want, then tap Copy Link. Note that you copy the video's link — the sound is embedded in the video itself.
Step 2 — Paste it into VidSave
Open the downloader page, paste the link, and tap Download. Processing usually takes a few seconds.
Step 3 — Choose the MP3 option
Pick MP3 / Audio from the results. The file saves straight to your device's Downloads folder with the original audio quality preserved.
Turning a Saved Sound Into a Ringtone
On Android
- Open Settings › Sound › Phone ringtone.
- Tap the + (or "Add from storage") and pick your downloaded MP3 from the Downloads folder.
- Select it — done. Most Android phones also let you assign different sounds to specific contacts.
Want just the catchy part and not the full clip? Any free audio-trimming app (or the built-in editor on many phones) can cut the MP3 down to a 15–30 second ringtone in seconds.
On iPhone
- Save the MP3 to the Files app.
- Use the GarageBand app (free from Apple) to import the file into a project and export it as a ringtone — iOS sends it directly to Settings › Sounds › Ringtone.
- Alternatively, third-party ringtone apps from the App Store can do the same with fewer steps.
iOS keeps ringtones deliberately locked down, so GarageBand is the most reliable free route. The whole process takes about five minutes the first time and two minutes after that.
Smart Uses Beyond Ringtones
- Alarm tones: nothing gets you up like the sound you cannot stop humming.
- Notification pings: trim a one-second signature sound for messages.
- Workout playlists: compile trending hype sounds into one offline folder — no subscription needed.
- Video editing: drop a trending sound into your own reels inside TikTok's app, where licensing is handled automatically.
Quality Expectations (Honest Version)
TikTok re-encodes every upload, so the extracted MP3 matches what TikTok streams — roughly 128 kbps, which sounds fine on phone speakers, earbuds, and ringtones. It will not match a studio master, and no downloader can add quality that was never uploaded. If you notice a "muffled" result, try a different upload of the same song, ideally from an account that posted in high quality.
A note on rights: songs on TikTok are licensed inside the TikTok app. A saved MP3 is perfect for personal listening and ringtones, but uploading it elsewhere — as your own video's background music on YouTube, for example — can trigger copyright claims. When in doubt, get the track from an official licensed source.
Troubleshooting
No MP3 option appeared for my link
Photo slideshows and muted videos have no audio track to extract. Try a regular video post instead.
The ringtone is silent on my Android
Some phones need a media rescan — restart the phone, or move the MP3 to the Ringtones folder using your file manager, then reselect it.
GarageBand does not show my file
Make sure the MP3 is fully downloaded, then use GarageBand's loop browser › Files tab to import. If it still fails, rename the file to remove special characters.
